The Secondary School Admission Test, or SSAT, is an admission test administered by The Enrollment Management Association in the United States to students in grades 3–11 to provide a standardized measure that will help professionals in independent or private elementary, middle, and high schools to make decisions regarding student admission.

– How many hours is the SSAT test?

The duration of the SSAT depends on which level of the test you are taking. If you are taking the Elementary Level test, the test will take 110 minutes, or about two hours: Quantitative (Math) section: 30 questions, 30 minutes. Verbal section: 30 questions, 20 minutes.

– What does SSAT score mean?

SSAT Scaled Scores. Each of the three main Lower Level test sections is scored on a scale of 440 to 710, with a total scaled score range of 1320 to 2130. Each of the three main Upper Level test sections is scored on a scale of 500 to 800, with a total scaled score range of 1500 to 2400.

– How long does it take to get the SSAT results?

Most schools receive the school SSAT score report within two weeks of the test date. School score reports are delivered online and by mail. Student SSAT score reports are also typically released within two weeks of the test date.

– How much does it cost to take the SSAT?

Late Registration Fee (about three weeks before test date): $40 in addition to SSAT cost. Rush Registration Fee (about one week before test date): $80 in addition to SSAT cost. Change in test date or test location: $35 in addition to SSAT cost.

– How do I register for the SSAT?

Go to the SSAT national test date registration form to register for a national test date. Go to the SSAT flex test registration form to register for a flex test administration (testing with an educational consultant, a regional consortium, or on an alternate group test date offered by your child’s school).

– Can you use a calculator on the SSAT?

No. Avoid using a calculator on your math homework or on your SSAT practice tests. Your brain needs to get used to doing simple math without a calculator. But, you will be allowed to use scratch paper and doing so is highly recommended
